How are you dear people and how did your 2017 start? I’m still kind of slow and as always those first few days of the new year, feeling like I should be doing a lot and be all nice and organized and have it all planned out while in the reality feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed, like not knowing where to start. Anyone else feeling the same? But as I always tell myself, when you don’t know where to start just make that first step no matter how small it is and just start… 🙂
So I’m applying the same concept here on the blog and because I was putting myself under so much pressure that in the end most of the work that I had planned for this first week in January in the end didn’t happen. So instead of feeling guilty, I decided to take those first small steps and go from there. I will tell you about these smoothies in a minute but let me introduce them first! 😀
Ladies & gentlemen, here we have one pretty, healthy and delicious raspberry smoothie, just for you…
And here we have snow inspired also pretty, healthy and delicious blueberry smoothie…
So at first I was not planning to post these here on the blog as I posted them in the last two days on my social media (my Facebook page and Instagram) pages but than I though why not post them here as well! They are kind of perfect for this time when we all feel possibly a bit heavy from all the food and treats (cookies!!!) and wine we had over the holidays.
I don’t really believe that we should go on diets and restrict ourselves from all the pleasures that food can give us just because we had a bit more than usual to eat for holidays but I do believe that we can do some good for our bodies if we just make some of the meals lighter and introduce a lot of fruit and vegetables in our diets. So why not decide to, instead of having cookies or pastry for breakfast, have these kind of smoothie bowls that are so delicious but also very healthy and will not make us feel heavy and bloated. Remember it’s all about the small steps so even if you just make one of your meals light and plant-based, you already will be doing a lot for your health and your body! 🙂
- 1 cup oat milk (or other milk of your choice)
- 1 banana
- 2 tbsp oats
- 1 tbsp flax seeds (or chia seeds)
- 1 tbsp acai powder (optional)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1 small piece fresh ginger
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- handful frozen raspberries
- Note: 1 cup = 250 ml
- Put all the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into bowl and sprinkle with some shredded coconut and some more raspberries.
- Enjoy!
I love making my smoothies a bit thicker and eat them from the pretty bowls as this way I feel like eating a real breakfast rather than just drink it from the glass. This way you can also use different toppings to make them more interesting and delicious! 🙂
